FMA exists to enable the empowerment of civil society and social movements in the information age by advocating for democratic governance of ICTs; human rights in digital environments, among others.

Vision

WHAT WE DO

In our mission to promote digital rights in the Philippines, FMA produces research and policy briefs to assess and guide policy-making. We augment this effort by conducting workshops with communities and organizing fellow advocates to join us in making a better Internet.
Gender and ICT

Gender and ICT

The Gender & ICT Program focuses on the intersection between ICT and gender rights and issues, including women’s use and access of ICTs and tech-related gender-based violence.

Privacy

Privacy

The Privacy Program advocates the right to privacy of citizens, which includes the right against unlawful surveillance. FMA conducts research and monitors policy developments related to privacy rights not only in the Philippines, but in a global context as well.

Internet Rights

Internet Rights

As internet use continues to play an important role in Philippine society, FMA works to ensure that Philippine internet governance is inclusive, democratic, and rights-based. The Internet Rights Program therefore engages in issues such as meaningful access and free expression on the internet.
