Sept. 9 – FMA today called for a consultation meeting with partners working on internet rights for a joint submission on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR).
Established in 2006 by the UN General Assembly in resolution 60/251, the UPR is a unique process, which involves a periodic review of the human rights records of all 193 UN member states. The Philippines is one of the 14 countries up for their third cycle reviews during the 27th session of the UPR Working Group.
FMA hopes to submit a report to the UPR before the September 22 deadline.
