WHAT WE DO
As internet use continues to play an important role in Philippine society, FMA works to ensure that Philippine internet governance is inclusive, democratic, and rights-based. The Internet Rights Program therefore engages in issues such as meaningful access and free expression on the internet.
Recent Projects
Through this project, FMA has conducted activities and produced materials addressing challenges confronting the media sector such as the information disorder, shrinking democratic spaces and media regulation. Several iterations of the Digital Rights Camp was supported by this project, through which FMA was able to connect with and mobilize digital rights advocates in the country.
The Greater Internet Freedom project is a four-year initiative focused on enhancing digital security for civil society and media and increasing citizen engagement in Internet government. Through this project, FMA has held workshops and written reports that help capacitate CSOs and other media groups about digital security and digital rights.
