DEPED TO ROLL OUT SCHOOL DIGITAL SAFETY CAMPAIGN

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen school safety, the Department of Education (DepEd) is set to launch a School Digital Safety Campaign for students, teachers, and parents. Secretary Sonny Angara said that the department aims to add another crucial layer of protection through digital safety.

The Philippines ranked 55th out of 97 countries in the Internet Connectivity Index, compiled by eSIM provider Saily. The index scores each country from 0 to 100 — the higher the score, the easier internet access is for travelers. The Philippines scored 49.52, below the global average of 50. Daily rates connectivity on four pillars: cyber safety, internet quality, internet freedom, and internet affordability.
