Taipei, Taiwan – On its sixth year, the Asia Pacific regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF) was held in Taipei, Taiwan with the theme  “A New Interner Era – Merging Physical Space with Cyberspace.” And for the third straight year, the Foundation for Media Alternatives (FMA) sent representatives to take part in the regional IGF – Pro
gramme Coordinator for Gender and ICT, Liza Garcia, and Programme Coordinator for Privacy, Atty. Jamael Jacob.

In partnership with Empower Malaysia, FMA co-organized a workshop on ‘Gender and Access,’ which Garcia facilitated.

Jacob was a speaker for the sessions on ‘Privacy, anonymity and public access to information’ and ‘Threats to free expression and challenges for reform in Southeast Asia.
