FMA, in cooperation with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) is co-sponsoring public consultations in Manila  and Davao City on the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA 10173 or the Data Privacy Act.

On July 13, the consultation will be held at Room 301, ISSI, UP Diliman from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  Apart from the discussion of comments and recommendations on the draft IRR, there will also be separate afternoon sessions on Health Information and Data Privacy in Research. The UP Consultation is also being sponsored by the UPD Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Development (OVCRD), Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD), University of the Philippines Manila, Philippine Social Science Council (PSSC), and the Knowledge Management and Information Technology Service of the Department of Health (DOH KMITS).

The Davao Consultation will be on July 14 at the Media Room, 8th Floor, Xavier Community Centre of the First Companions, Ateneo de Davao from 1 pm to 5 pm. FMA will also be setting up an optional orientation session on RA 10173 and the right to privacy to help prepare participants for the IRR discussions. This orientation will be held from 10 am – 12 pm, prior to the IRR Consultation in the afternoon.
