The Foundation for Media Alternatives, in partnership with the Women’s Legal and Human Rights Bureau (WLB), and with the support of the Association for Progressive Communications (APC), World Wide Web Foundation and Internet Society (ISOC) will be holding a consultation entitled “Real Access for Women: A National Consultation on Gender and ICT” this December 8 and 9, 2015 at the Oracle Hotel and Residences, Katipunan Avenue, Quezon City.

This national consultation hopes to convene women and women’s organizations working across various sectors of marginalized communities, human rights activists, feminists, women in technical ICT community, and ICT entrepreneurs to arrive at a nuanced understanding of what constitutes real access to ICT for women, identify issues and impact of ICT on Filipino women and its potential to contribute to women’s empowerment, and to identify opportunities for collaboration and recommendations to address issues and concerns surrounding gender and ICT.
